How to Fight Ageing, Inside and Out

Ageing is a normal, natural process that everyone goes through in their lives. With age usually comes the positives – maturity, wisdom and clarity in life, but physically speaking, sagging skin, memory loss, low energy, loss of strength and wrinkles are the bane of growing older.

If you want to age and grow older without an expressionless face or looking like a plastic doll, you can do it the natural way instead. Here below are some great and simple tips to follow on how to look, feel and be younger in no time (no surgeries or painful procedures required.)

1.  Sweat it out 4 – 5 times a week

Exercise has been proven by many scientific studies to delay the effects of premature aging.

Just to emphasize how powerful exercise is in delaying aging, according to British health experts who studied 1,000 pairs of twins, they found that the DNA of the physically active ones were 10 years younger in structure and appearance compared to the ones who are not active.

2.  Sleep better

Haven’t you noticed that people who are constantly sleep-deprived have ugly bags under the eyes and look generally older than they really are? Lack of quality shut-eye has devastating effects in the long-term for your health and beauty.

Make sure you get the required eight hours of sleep every night, and if that’s not possible, catch up on your sleep with some catnaps throughout the day to help your body and cells recover.

3.  Follow a healthy diet

You’re probably thinking, “tell me something I don’t know”, but what most people do not realize is the huge impact of your diet on how it can make you feel and look young.

A diet rich in anti-oxidants, and vitamins like berries, green, leafy and bright orange vegetables and fruits has rejuvenating benefits on your skin and how you feel overall.

Another thing: Proper hydration with water (not sodas or commercial juices rich in sugars) is proven to make your skin more elastic and supple. And according to dermatologists, a well-moisturised, hydrated skin helps fight off nasty wrinkles better.

4.  Restore collagen

Collagen is the substance in our skin that makes it appear taut and supple. As we grow older, our body’s ability to produce collagen unfortunately flounders, and skin starts to lose its elasticity. It is advantageous to use quality collagen stimulating skincare before too many lines appear. Most moisturisers do not penetrate into collagen producing layers. Collagen applied on top of the skin acts as as a moisturizer only. Special ingredients are required to help stimulate collagen production and plump up the skin.

In the end, it is really up to the woman whether she wants to go the natural route or use what medical science has to offer.  Whichever, one still has to ensure that the skin is fed with quality skincare.
